The Iowa Institute for Cooperatives will be awarding at least 8 – $2000 scholarships this summer. The awards will be given to students who have had an internship or work experience program at a cooperative who is a member of the Iowa Institute for Cooperatives. Northern Country Coop is a member of IIC.  These scholarships are open to all member cooperatives regardless of industry sector or location. The scholarship is available for both four-year university students and community college students. The student must be enrolled full-time for the fall semester 2021. The educational institution can be in Iowa or out-of-state and there are no requirements on field of study. Once the scholarships have been awarded, ICC will contact their academic institution and the scholarship funds will be paid directly to the institution. The completed application packet is due at the IIC office on or before Friday, August 13, 2021.  Click here for the parameters of the Scholarship.  Click here for the scholarship application.
Northern Country Cooperative Company award five $500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors whose parents/guardians are Northern Country Cooperative members.  Applicants for the scholarship must be planning to attend an accredited college and be enrolled in an Agriculture or Ag-related program of study.  Programs may be one to four years in length. Interested students can contact their High School guidance counselor or visit any Northern Country Coop location or  print the application form from this site. Home schooled students should contact the high school district where their residence is located.  Minnesota locations include Adams, Alden, Brownsdale, Conger, Emmons, Lansing, LeRoy, Lyle, Oakland, and Rose Creek. Iowa locations include Stacyville and Toeterville.  The completed application is due at the Northern Country Coop head office, 203 East Spring Street, PO Box 217, Stacyville, IA 50476-0217 on or before March 1, 2021.  Applications missing signatures or received at the Stacyville office after the deadline will not be considered.   Click here for Northern Country Coop Scholarship
18 total scholarships are awarded to deserving, qualified students enrolled at an accredited U.S. 2-year or 4-year junior college, college or university, or graduate school, in a program of study that can equip the student to contribute to the agriculture industry in Iowa. Applicant must be an Iowa Corn Growers Association member or son/daughter of an ICGA member. Scholarships are for one year and previous winners may reapply. Scholarships may be used to offset tuition, school supplies, or student housing.  Funds are issued on behalf of each student to his/her college financial aid department in August 2021, but entering freshman must successfully complete the first college term and those funds will be applied to second term expenses.
